Her Campus Cal Lutheran: What are you involved in on campus?
Daniel Lacey: I’m a peer advisor and the ASCLUG Senate Director.
HC: Describe yourself in 3 words.
DL: Honest, Funny, and Caring.
HC: How would your friends describe you in 3 words?
DL: Happy, Energetic, and Approachable.
HC: What is your idea of a perfect date?
DL: This is such a hard question. The perfect date has to start with the perfect person. With the perfect person that’s all the date has to be. If I’m with the right person I don’t care where we go or what we do. But if I had to say something, I would love to just go to dinner and just be vulnerable and just be you.
HC: What do you look for in a relationship/person?
DL: Someone told me once that it’s always good to have a person in your life that has tough skin and a tender heart. So in a person, I’d want someone to be tough, yet warm. I’m not necessarily all about looks, I’m all about the person.
HC: Why did you choose Cal Lutheran?
DL: Cal Lutheran was not my first choice; I decided to come to Cal Lutheran two weeks before school started. The biggest reason I came here was because the other university I was going to go to did not have the academic excellence that Cal Lutheran does or the networking opportunities with students and alumni. I chose Cal Lutheran not because of social atmosphere, but because of the academic rigor and the opportunity to network with amazing people.
HC: What has been your favorite class taken at Cal Lu?
DL: Beginning Acting with Jocelyn Hall. It was one of my first courses here as a freshmen. It challenged me to really step outside of my comfort zone and made acting easy, which is something I’ve always loved to do and love to perfect it and to just get better at it was a lot of fun. The class itself, I feel like, was more of a peer group to me because I met some of my closest friends through that class. It was just great class.
HC: What are 3 things on your bucket list?
DL: 1. Go Skydiving, 2. Attend The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, 3. Travel the World
HC: Have you ever traveled outside of the county?
DL: Yes, I have been to the Western Caribbean, Africa, and Mexico.
HC: What did you do in Africa?
DL: I was in Uganda for almost 2 weeks. I was there on a mission for church. It was amazing; I don’t know how to describe it. I was the communication on the trip, I blogged about it, and was the photographer. We did many things like distribute Bibles, give clothes to kids, and provide the elderly with eye glasses so they could read.
HC: If you were an ice cream flavor, what flavor would you be?
DL: Mint Chocolate Chip from Baskin-Robbins, specifically.
HC: What is your favorite thing to watch on Netflix?
DL:Â House of Cards!
HC: Do you have any hobbies?
DL: Photography, I’m a Social Media Guru, and I tend to nerd out reading leadership books.
HC: Do you like Disney?
DL: I’m a Disneyland freak! I go too much! But it’s my time to just let go and be myself and to relieve stress. I’m also a premium season pass holder! You could say I’m a Disneyland guru.
HC: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
DL: In five years I see myself moved out of the house, hopefully in a job I love but not a call it a job, but rather I just call it life. And possible engaged with someone by then.
HC: How do you feel about being nominated as a Campus Cutie this week?
DL: Shocked because I don’t see myself as a campus cutie!
HC: Anything else you’d like Her Campus readers to know about you?
DL:  Don’t be afraid to date the nice guy on campus! Also, I’m a twin. My brother’s name is Michael. We are fraternal twins and we are complete opposites, but we still love each other to death and are supportive of each other regardless of any circumstances.Â
