The Women’s Soccer team has been on the rise this season, with an outstanding record of 11-1-3. The team has added an extra emphasis on team bonding this year. The Regals have been working on becoming a family first this season, and this has proven to work wonders for their chemistry during games. The team’s chemistry is not only obvious on the field, but it is also clear off the field. The team supports one another, no matter what the situation is.
Junior, Olivia Leyva stated that team bonding was “the first thing [they] did before anything soccer related.” The added emphasis on team bonding has allowed the team to grow together as one. Every Friday night the team does a team dinner or something fun as a whole. When asked how this team has impacted her, Senior Katelyn Kimball stated that this team “has built [her] into the person [she] is today.” The team is more than a team, they are a family. The change in culture “has made a huge impact on [the] team’s success.” Being a part of this team has made Olivia realize that her time here is limited, and that she wants to take every opportunity on the field as a Regal. The Regals have only lost one game this season and have been playing amazing as a whole. The team had some very very talented freshman that came in this year, and they have really helped the returners come back even stronger than they were before.
The Regals still have five games left in their regular season and are looking forward to making it to the post season once again. Go Regals!
