In honor of National Pay Equity Day, Career Services will be putting on an incredibly helpful event geared toward helping women in the workplace! With help from IEEE Women in Engineering and the American Association of University Women, CLU’s Career Services will be holding different activities and discussions that would benefit any woman in being well-equipt to enter the workplace. Not that any of us need any more incentives to go, but pizza will be served!
WHEN:Â Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 5:30PM – 7:15PM
WHERE: Cal Lutheran Lundring Events Center (Parking in Gilbert Sports & Fitness Center Lot)
WHO: All CLU students/ alumni & community members are invited
The agenda includes a keynote speaker on STEM and pay equity and even a panel discussion on salary negotiations, gender investing gap, and maternity leave! In addition, table discussions will be held on topics of pay equity, cultural stereotypes, unconscious biases, work life balance, pay gap in the STEM field, and how men can help. Lastly, there will be a mock salary negotation! If anyone is nervous about speaking to their supervisors about the pay gap, all of these exercises will be incredibly helpful!
Be sure to mark your calendars and head on over on April 4th to learn how to navigate that difficult conversation regarding pay equity!
