If you’re anything like me who loves to find some of the best local spots for nightlife (and avoid a longer drive to LA when you can) then you’ve come to the right place. Here’s a few that I’ve compiled, all with different vibes, in the Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village area, and all of them no longer than about 10 minutes from campus.
1. Bamboo Room
For a night out that’s a little more luxurious, Bamboo Room in Westlake Village is your go-to. This upscale lounge offers a much more intimate space, with handcrafted cocktails, including their most popular, the “Bamboozled,” an elegant lounge, in addition to an outdoor patio with several fire pits. Open every Friday & Saturday night from 8 p.m. – 2 a.m. and recently added Thursday’s from 8 p.m. – 1 a.m., they have various talented DJs that start at 10 p.m. that always bring everybody to the dance floor.
2. Bogies
At Bogies Bar located at the Westlake Village Inn, here you’ll find something new every night. This high-energy club offers DJs, dancing, and live music all throughout the week, with a packed dance floor and a beautiful outdoor patio and American eats. They have Salsa nights every Wednesday, occasional line dancing nights, and live cover bands and DJs the rest of the weekend.
3. Tipsy Goat
If you’re looking for our local college bar scene in Thousand Oaks, this is where you’ll find it. The Tipsy Goat is a casual, laid-back bar, with various events going on throughout each week. In addition to their DJs every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, they have games all throughout the place, inside and on their outdoor patio, including pool, ping-pong, and darts. They have trivia nights every Tuesday, and karaoke every Monday and Wednesday. This social hub also features different themed-events each month, so there’s always something new happening here.
