I don’t know about everyone else, but when I think of holidays and cold weather and everything nice that goes along with it, I think of all the treats I want to make with my family. Not only is it fun to cook and bake with your family, afterward you have an array of tasty treats to share! Here I’ve collected my three favorite recipes to make around the holidays with my family, and I hope you love them just as much as I do!
- Adorable Santa Pancakes
-
I do not know what year it was exactly, but one Christmas morning my mom made “Santa pancakes” for my sister and me for breakfast. We absolutely loved it, and the next year I said we had to have them again because it was tradition now (apparently I was a very traditional child when it came to sweet breakfasts). For years afterward, this was our breakfast every Christmas morning.
If you would prefer to, you could always switch out the strawberries for any red fruit that suits your fancy! These can also be a fun build-your-own activity for any group of friends or family. Although I am no longer a child, I still love this meal, so if you’re looking to start your own tradition, look no further than these jolly morning treats!
Great recipe here!
- Cute Sprinkle Sugar Cookies
-
These cookies are fun, easy to make, and can be altered for any occasion. For Thanksgiving you can use brown, orange, yellow, and red sprinkles and for Christmas you can always go with the classic red and green. You can even change things up and go with crushed up candy canes or pick fancy sprinkles that match your other decorations!
Whatever you want to do with these delicious sugar cookies, this recipe will work for you. I use it for birthdays, holidays, general midnight snacking, and so many more events. Pick the sprinkles that make you the happiest and have fun rolling the dough balls around … and eating them of course!
- Festive Peppermint Chocolate Pie
-
What would the holidays be without pie? If you’re like me and like to try different recipes for classic flavors, you need to give this recipe a try! Of course, if you don’t like peppermint, you can always substitute it for vanilla extract. And if you really want to up the chocolate experience, exchange the graham cracker crust for a chocolate cookie crust. I think this recipe is festive and delicious, and I can’t wait to hear what you all think as well!
Use this recipe!
As we are approaching the end of the quarter, the thought of sitting at home with a cookie or waking up to make santa pancakes is really what’s been getting me through these last few weeks of school. No matter what plans you have for the holiday season, these treats will be a fun way to add a little sweetness to your break from school! Happy holidays everyone!
