5 Small Black-owned Fashion Brands to Support

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal Poly chapter.

During the chaotic year that was 2020, I experienced several eye-opening moments that made me want to take action. In the wake of the Black Lives Matter protesting, I found a way to combine my love for fashion while simultaneously supporting the POC community during these trying times. I scrolled through Instagram looking for small black-owned businesses that I could actively show my support to. The designers I’m about to share with you truly create works of art that you not only look good in, but feel good in. More importantly, you can feel confident knowing that you’re supporting a cause that so desperately deserves more attention. I would love for you to use this article (and share it with your fellow fashion-loving friends!) as a resource for your shopping pursuits.

Magazines such as Vogue, Elle and so many more have put this brand in the spotlight. This brand is definitely a must-have on your shopping list.
