Finding out someone isn’t into you the same way you are into them can be devastating. What are you supposed to do with all of those feelings you’ve developed?! Even though the unmatched feelings can’t disappear overnight, here are a few ways to speed up the moving-on process.
1. Erase the Database.
To really get over and stop thinking about the one that got away (or the one that you never had), we suggest leaving the pictures and messages far behind, and staying lightyears away from their social media. (P.S. we promise that obsessively reading your fav conversation over and over again will not somehow magically make him fall in love with you, it will just make your sanity say “sayonara.”)
2. Make a list of things you love about yourself.
Rejection is perhaps the easiest way to poke holes in our confidence, but writing down qualities you admire in yourself and are proud of can help to reboot. Never allow a past relationship (or lack thereof) to change your perception of your value, because you’re a 10 boo.
3. Date night with Ben & Jerry.
It’s time to put some new men in your life, and TRUST US, these guys will not disappoint. One thing that can always sooth a hurting heart is stuffing your face with a creamy treat, and in a crisis like this, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream may just be the golden ticket to your comfort. Good news is this golden ticket is not as difficult to find as Willy Wonka’s, but still sends you straight to the chocolate factory.
4. Let out all your emotions.
Sometimes screaming really loud helps…right?
5. Surround yourself with people you love
Getting together with your squad can basically make any unfortunate situation less, well…unfortunate.
It’s important to always remember that with or without a partner, you are valuable and loved. BUT, for those of us who are not so skilled with coping with the rejection, never forget these tips and tricks in the midst of your crisis.
