According to the Multi-Service Eating Disorders Association (MEDA), 91 percent of females in college have tried to control their weight. In a society where we are subjected to the objectification of women through advertisements and are constantly comparing ourselves to each other through perfectly-edited social media posts, Her Campus Cal Poly recognizes the need to create awareness surrounding the issue of body image.
On Monday, Oct. 16, we will be hosting a booth in the University Union Plaza as part of Buck the Stigma. Our booth is called “Beautifully You” and aims to help women embrace and love their bodies. Please join us from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to participate in numerous uplifting activities.
