“I’ve been in the Himalayas once. We went up to about 12,000 feet, but it was an organized trip with porters and some luggage with us, but it was just the five of us friends with fourteen others supporting us. In the Himalayas, you can do that—it was about $300 for ten days… What was scary about the Himalayas was that we had a medical doctor with us and, well, people found out about it. At night, people asked him to come to local places to help the sick people. He actually had to give antibiotics to kids who were probably going to die. The antibiotics probably didn’t even help much. And there are no helicopters to take the kids where they can actually get treated. So it was kind of sad to see that. Medical help here or in Germany is no big deal, but in countries like that, it’s much harder.”
