Her Campus: What do people say is your best quality?
Owen Sebo:Â Sincerity, and genuineness. Also his height because it improves his hug quality (thanks Taryn Hastie!).
HC: Do you have any nicknames?
OS:Â Big O, from my sophomore year of high school for being a big guy. Also some people call me Sea Bear.
HC: What are you involved with on campus?
OS: I’m a member of the Financial Management Association, I also did intramural volleyball last quarter, and I’m a business calculus tutor for the Orfalea College of Business.
HC: Where do you see yourself ten years from now?
OS:Â I see myself with a stable job and a family, hopefully doing something in finance or the film industry. I would like to be in California, being in SLO County would be awesome too.
HC: Who has had the greatest influence on your life?
OS: My parents, my mom and dad, because they’ve done everything for me up to this point and I can thank them enough. I wouldn’t be here without them.
HC: As a local, do you have a favorite place in SLO County or to travel to in California?
OS: I love San Simeon State Beach; it’s a little bit North. My favorite places to travel are Yosemite, Catalina; I went zip lining and parasailing there and Palm Springs.
HC: If you could go anywhere in the world right now where would you go and why?
OS: Spain because I’m working on becoming fluent in Spanish and I would love to be immersed in the language.
HC: What is your ideal first date experience?
OS:Â I would say it would be a movie in the middle of the day, and then dinner afterwards and that gives you a lot of time to talk to the person and get to know more about them, and then that could spur something that would be a mutual interest.
HC: What is an ultimate deal breaker in a relationship?
OS: Family’s a big thing for me; I have a very small family. Also if someone wasn’t able to accept who I am, and someone who asked me to change who I am.
HC: If your last name was a verb what would it mean?
OS: Always eating, because I’m literally always eating.
HC: What’s your favorite movie out of the best pictures?
OS: So hard! There were some that were hard to get through, like Midnight Cowboy (1969). It was a year and a half ago and I’d seen about 12 and I wanted to finish by the New Year, so I watched All The King’s Men(1949) on New Years Eve.
HC: do you have a prediction for the next best picture?
OS: I think American Hustle will win, and I’m pumped because Jennifer Lawrence is going to win best supporting actress!
HC: If you were any movie character who would you be?
OS:  Christian Bale in The Fighter is my favorite acting performance, but I don’t know if I would necessarily want to be him.
HC: If you could play a sport against any famous athlete what would you play?
OS:Â I would want to play tennis with Roger Federer. I played tennis in high school and I want to try to pick it back up again here at Cal Poly with some friends. I also played soccer, basketball and I ran cross-country in high school. Â
HC: Do you have any pets?
OS: I have a dog named Callie. She’s 10 years old and she’s a Border Collie Queensland Rottweiler mix, Callie for California. We call her Callie Wallie, and we got her when she was 5 months old.
