With spring break approaching, it can take a lot of work to plan extravagant spring break outings on such short notice. Regardless, a hometown staycation can be just as fun, with endless experiences waiting to be explored! These budget-friendly spring break activities will make this a fun and relaxing break with some added hometown magic!

Spa Day

With midterms coming to an end, a self-care day will be much needed during your spring break. Treat yourself to a spa day at a local spa and take a moment to re-energize! If you would like to get creative, you can also transform your home into a relaxing sanctuary. You can grab your favorite facemasks, bath bombs, and skin care products and unwind in the comfort of your own home.

Farmers’ Market Excursions

Explore your hometown’s local farmers’ market and indulge in fresh fruit, vegetables, and homemade goodies in your area. Farmers’ markets are a great way to meet new people, try new things, and enjoy local music! It’s important to support sustainable agriculture while having fun and enjoying what your hometown has to offer!

Catch up with some hometown friends

College can be really busy sometimes and it can be hard to simultaneously balance home life and college life. Call up some of your hometown besties and visit cool new restaurants or coffee shops to catch up! You can also step it up a notch and organize a picnic with some of the goodies you might’ve purchased at the farmers market.

Staying active

Enjoy the change of scenery by escaping the busy city life and exploring what nature outings your neighboring towns might have to offer. If you consider yourself to be an outdoorsy type, you can organize a nature retreat. If that’s not your thing, you can also explore new hiking routes that you may not be familiar with.

Bookworm escapes

Spring Break is also a great time to keep your mind sharp and exercised! A good way to do this is by visiting your local library and starting to read a new book. Dive into captivating novels or explore a genre of books that might be new to you! The opportunities are endless and the magic of storytelling can transport you into new imaginary realms during this spring break!

For the past three years, she has developed an interest in writing and pop culture which is why she decided to become part of the Her Campus writing team! Outside of being a part of the Her Campus team, she is also an active member of the Alpha Phi Sorority Chapter at Chico State. Through Alpha Phi, she has participated in community service events as well as philanthropy fundraisers. She recently also had the opportunity to become a collegiate brand ambassador for PRIME, through which she promotes PRIME products through social media marketing on Instagram. The reason why she decided to become a writer for Her Campus is because of the emphasis on woman empowerment. She values the importance of having content tailored towards college women written by college women. The message of creating a website that feels like a community is important and Her Campus does a good job representing that. She is so excited about this new marketing and writing opportunity through Her Campus and can’t wait to learn, improve, and create throughout this experience!
