New Thursday Night Spot Unlocked! Introducing…. ‘Club Coin-Op’

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal State Chico chapter.

If you’re a Chico State student, you know that Chico doesn’t fall short on night life and there’s PLENTY of options for a fun night out with your best friends. With happy hours (check out my Guide to Chico’s Best Happy Hours), late-night drink discounts, and a variety of bars, there’s certainly plenty to do! The one experience I haven’t found quite yet in Chico is a real club. I’m talking a late night Vegas-like atmosphere with bottle service, a fantastic D.J., and great vibes. This week, that’s about to change!

As you probably know, Coin-Op was welcomed into our beloved downtown Chico last Spring and this semester, it’s getting even better! Known for its collection of fun and timeless games (my favorite is the basketball game and I am a self-proclaimed champion, might I add), classic menu, and creative drinks, the game room has simultaneously provided Chico with a family-friendly arcade experience during the day and a lively night out for college students and adults. Coin-Op is located at 229 Broadway St. and is open seven days a week; Monday through Thursday 4:00 p.m. to midnight, Fridays 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., Saturdays noon to 2:00 a.m., and Sundays noon to midnight. All ages are welcome until 8:00 p.m. everyday, after which, the family-friendly game room transforms into a bar and restaurant for guests who are 21 years and older.

This Thursday, Oct. 5, Coin-Op is launching yet another experience to their already unique setting. Starting this week, you can now enjoy a weekly tradition called “Club Coin-Op!” Every Thursday night, the back patio will be transformed into a club featuring a live D.J. (this week features “DEEZY”), unbeatable deals on food and beverages, and fire-pit tables. The specials will start at 9:00 p.m. and include $2 wildcat test tube shots and tecates, $3 pacman shooters and rocket fuels, and $5 power punches, burgers, and fries.

The club will accept reservations in advance for a fire pit or table for you and your party. When you make a reservation, you’ll also be offered bottle service and table service! To make a reservation, you can call Coin-Op at 530-898-2688, e-mail them at info@coinopchico.com, or DM their Instagram, @coinopchico! Without a reservation, you can still walk in – and the best part? Absolutely no cover charge necessary.

The D.J. will play from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. every Thursday night. Whether you’re walking in or planning on making a reservation for you and your friends, Club Coin-Op is bound to be the new go-to Thursday night spot and personally, I can’t wait to make this new scene an annual girls’ night out with my roommates and best friends. See you there!
