Crazy Over Lilly Pulitzer for Target

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal State LA chapter.

Last Sunday was dubbed by many as “Pink Sunday,” when the collaboration between Lilly Pulitzer and Target hit the shelves.  The collection consisted of bright resort like clothing, home goods and accessories. Its release led the Target website to crash. Those who were unable to place their orders online headed out to their nearest Targets. In various parts of the country lines formed well before Target opened, coiled around the store.  Waiting for those red doors to opened felt like waiting to open Christmas gifts. Once Target opened what followed could be described as a frenzy.

In many places everything sold out within minutes.

Some people bought more than their fair share…

Others took advantage of the low prices and turned to Ebay to sell the products at inflated prices.

It led to this:

If you still want to get your hands on some Lilly for Target you can try a few things.

1. Even though you probably don’t need a reason to constantly visit Target, while you are there check for returns. Chances are that those who got carried away and bought too many things are returning some items. Or visit the Target website to see if any items are available at a Target near you.

2. Check on social media.  Some people are selling some of their merchandise and only charge the paypal and shipping fee.  You can check these hashtags:

#LILLYFORTARGET

#LILLYFORSALE

3. If worse comes to worse and you really want to get your hand on some Lilly, visit the Lily Pulitzer website. They won’t have Target prices, but you can still get Prints for under $100 or accessories for under $50.
