Christmas can be considered the best time of the year. Finals are done, and school is out for a few weeks. You will probably be home relaxing, catching up on sleep, doing some shopping and spending time with family. If you want to add holiday touches to your room or home, here are some easy Christmas crafts to make with the whole family. Dust off the glue gun and get in the spirit by getting crafty.Â
Waterless Snow Globes
Create your own winter wonderland in a jar. All that is needed are empty jars, small Christmas figurines such as trees and reindeer, and artificial snow.Remove the lid from the jars, glue the small figurines inside the lid, and add artificial snow into the jar. Finally, seal the jar and add a cute bow or ribbon.
Box Fireplace
If your house doesn’t contain a fireplace, you can make an inexpensive one out of boxes that can easily be removed after the holidays. For this project you will need five boxes that are all the same size. Tape or glue the boxes together. Wrap your fireplace in butcher paper or brick-printed paper. For finishing touches, add some stockings or Christmas decorations.
Paper Christmas Trees
This craft is simple to make. All that is needed is some scrapbook paper. Use different sizes papers to have different sized trees. Fold the paper into a cone and tape or glue together. You can top the trees by adding a paper star.
Pinecone Ornament
To start, grab a few pinecones. If you pick them off the ground make sure you wash them first to remove sap or bugs. You can even paint your pine cones any color to match the rest of your Christmas décor.Attach a piece of yarn or twine to the pine cone and attach a bow to the piece of yarn. Finally hang onto your tree!
Floating Candles
This idea is simple to make and will make a great center piece that can be placed on a coffee table or on your Christmas table. All that is needed is a small glass container, a candle and Christmas plants. For the plants you can use European Holly, Evergreen twigs, or any plant of your choice. Place a few leaves from the plants into the container, fill up with water and add a floating candle.
Peppermint Tree
For this project you will need a lot of peppermints! You can buy them bulk in the supermarket or at the 99 cent store. Purchase a foam cone at the craft store and glue peppermints around the foam cone.
