Being crafty can get expensive fast. Not to mention that you only have a month to really enjoy fall before winter hits. If you want to add some fall décor to your dorm or room for the rest of the season, here are some inexpensive ideas that won’t hurt your wallet. Many of these crafts use materials that you can collect from the outdoors.
Leaf Wall DĂ©cor
This easy craft will give life to any wall. Take a stroll to the park and find a long twig. For the leaves, you can collect them off the floor, purchase silk ones, or cut leafs out of paper. Tie a string to the leaves and attach them to the twig.Â
Pumpkin Vases
If you still have your Halloween pumpkins you are in luck. Purchase any kind of flowers and floral foam, cut the top of the pumpkin and remove the inside of the pumpkin. If you want, you can paint the pumpkin any color you want. Soak the floral foam and place it inside of the pumpkin. Next, pin the flowers into the foam. This serves as nice centerpiece that can be used for Thanksgiving.
Cinnamon covered Candles
Head out to the 99 cent store and purchase some candles. Use your glue gun to glue cinnamon sticks around the candle. Wrap a ribbon around the candle and you have a nice smelling craft.
Pinecone Garland
Wash the pinecones first to get rid of sap or bugs. You can paint the pinecones any color you want. Wrap a piece if twine around each pinecone and tie a knot around it. You can hang the garland on any wall, around your headboard or around your door. You can also save the garland for Christmas!
