Democratic presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made a stop in California on Thursday, May 5. Lucky for us, she went to rally at East Los Angeles College (ELAC), a community college right next to Cal State LA!

There are some things that one automatically assumes will be at an event for Hillz herself: long lines, a speech surrounding immigration (among other topics), #ImWithHer signs, and the Secret Service. But there’s always more fun in seeing the unexpected! Here are a few things that we saw happen when Hillary came to the Eastside!
Â
1. Hillary’s entrance and exit was to the tune of Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song.”
First of all, that song is a JAM! But with Katy Perry’s support, it was a surprise that she didn’t walk out to “Roar.”
2. The whole squad came through.
Squad meaning ELAC President Marvin Martinez; Congresswoman Judy Chu; Congressman Xavier Becerra; LA County Supervisor Hilda Solis; California Senate President pro Tem Kevin De Leon; and Los Angeles’ own Mayor Eric Garcetti. All hyped up the crowd with promises of equal pay, the right to choose, and not being Donald Trump.
Â
3. Selfies were taken by Hillary herself!
Excuse the poor quality Snapchat photo but it happened! Also for those who don’t know where Chillary Clinton comes from, here’s a bonus video:
4. Anti-Hillary protesters were outside to greet the crowd afterwards.

With election coming down to a three man race, people are ready to speak out about each of the candidates. And it. was. intense.
Â
5. So. Many. Horses.
This might be exclusive to this ELAC rally, but who knew that sheriffs still have horses?!
The California Primary will be held on June 7th. Make sure to register to vote before May 23rd!
