5. A day on the Rideau Canal
Start off by renting skates from either Capital Skates or Dow’s Pavilion (they are $12 an hour or two hours for $16). If you already have skates, you can treat them to a nice lunch at one of Dowâs Lake restaurants where you rent skates. Donât forget to pick up a beavertail and hot chocolate while you enjoy Canadaâs longest skating rink to warm up those hands!
