Whether you’re the type who loves to stick your nose in a good book or the type to run a marathon, we have enough date options to suit your personality, whatever it is.
For The Intellectual
If you’re the type that loves to learn and you’d like to share that passion with your significant other, then an afternoon at the museum followed by a walk downtown is your kind of date. Best of all, it is fairly low budget – so it’s perfect for students!

For the Film Junkie
For students who can’t get enough of film, be it old or new, The Mayfair (on Bank just off Sunnyside) has a monthly schedule available at http://bank.mayfairtheatre.ca/schedule/ that can keep you in the loop!
Romance, action, comedy and more are just steps from campus and set in a beautiful old-style theatre. Tickets are reasonably priced, and the Chipwagon right across the street serves the best poutine to treat yourself on the walk home.
For Those Who Party
If you feel like putting on your flashiest outfit and wow-ing your date with your dance movies, Union Station (19+) is a blast! After dancing the night away, hit up the Elgin Street Diner for some of Ottawa’s finest greasy food.
For The Athletes
If you want to break a sweat and show off your athletic talent, a jog down the Rideau Canal is your best bet! This scenic route is heart-warming any time of the year and will lead you downtown to ‘The Green Door,’ a trendy vegetarian restaurant. Talk about a healthy lifestyle!
For The Musicians
If you’re the type that lives for music, an ideal date would be anywhere with live music. Some Ottawa favorites are Café Dekcuf, Mavricks or Babylon. The trick is to bookmark the pages and to check out who’s playing every so often, just to see. Follow up the date with a walk in the park behind the Chateau Laurier.
