What’s your favourite thing to do in the summer?
I wish I could say some extreme sport or something exciting but honestly I love to just relax by my pool, catch up on TV shows and hang out with my friends and two dogs. 

Are you a morning or a night person?
Although I am not exactly a morning fan and love to sleep, I don’t like to waste my day!

What’s a quirky habit of yours?
I always have to check behind the shower curtain for murderers before I use the washroom – my sister terrorized me as a child; always hiding and scaring me!

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
Honest, giving and enthusiastic. 

Do you like guys scruffy or clean-shaven?
It depends on the guys facial features – if he is more dark and rugged like Adam Levin then YES, but he is has more of a GQ look going on like Zac Efron then no!

What’s your favourite place to chill on campus?
The journalism lounge. It’s very peaceful with the live garden wall but it’s not too quite that you can’t have a conversation! Oh and the food court om nom nom. 

Where do you see yourself in five years?
I see myself graduated from university, hopefully living abroad experiencing different foods and culture before I have to settle down and work full time.

Why did you come to Carleton for journalism?
Ottawa is a great city! There is so much history and I like how Carleton is secluded from downtown so you really get the university experience rather than having to get to one class to the next  spread out over several blocks in a downtown core. 

Why do you want to go to Australia?
Australia to me seems so mystical with so many hidden treasures! I want to go and explore everything. Getting out of my comfort zone and doing excursions/ activities I would never normally do is just so appealing to me! Going to Australia to travel write would have such an impact on my life forever, I can only hope it comes true. 

Why are you the best woman for the job?
I am passionate about travelling, I am not afraid of getting lost, I actually rather embrace it. I love experiencing different cultures and learning peoples stories. I am also, not afraid to take chances and have fun!

Jasmine Williams is a fourth-year Journalism major, pursuing a minor in Film Studies at Carleton University. Harsimar Singh is currently a second-year Commerce major, with a concentration in Accounting at Carleton University. Aside from Her Campus, Harsimar is also running a small Not-for-profit organisation back home in India, known as "Child and Youth Friendly Chandigarh" which aims to design, organize & implement programs that inspire & empower children and youth - both privileged and underprivileged. In addition, she is an avid reader, a great cricket enthusiast and loves to travel! She is very excited to be working with the Her Campus team.
