Attending college away from family and friends can be emotionally tolling, especially during the holidays. No matter what time of year, you can always find interesting events near campus in the Kenosha area by browsing the events calendar at the Kenosha Visitors Bureau webpage. To help you begin your holiday hype, here are a few holiday-themed events to keep in mind while still on campus.

Saturday, November 18th 12:30 p.m.
Get festive in the kitchen! Join Mangia Wine Bar for their annual Holiday Cooking Class to learn new recipes, fun facts, and entertainment, all while enjoying a special holiday menu (and perhaps some choice wines). Featuring James Beard Award Winning Chef/Owner Tony Mantuano and Chef de Cuisine James Shields (call for reservations).
Friday, November 24th 4:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Don’t miss out on the stunning holiday decorations at the annual Lightin’ Up Downtown Kenosha! Events of the night include the lighting of the city’s Christmas tree, free electric streetcar and trolley rides, the Lightin’ Up Business decorating contest, and more! Enjoy live entertainment and special promotions at many of the downtown galleries, restaurants, shops, and other businesses. Carolers and musicians are also there to spread authentic holiday cheer.
Saturday, November 25th 8:00 – 11:30 a.m.
Run with the Turkeys 5k/10K! This annual run/walk event is held at the RecPlex in Pleasant Prairie along the shores of the beautiful Lake Andrea. Registration prices range between $20-$30, with online registration closing at 11:00 pm on November 23rd. Included in the race fee is a T-shirt and race number. Start time is at 9:00 a.m. (with race packet pick up from 8:00 – 8:45 a.m.).
Saturday, December 2nd 10:00 am – 6:00 p.m.
For one weekend, the weekly Saturday Harbor Market will return to the brisk outdoors. For this special event, over 60 vendors will be offering festive and giftable merchandise in two heated tents at the Fountain Square between the Kenosha Public Museum and Civil War Museum. There will be performances from the Carthachords and other local musicians and groups. Other events of the day include: International Holiday, Victorian Christmas, Holiday Wagon Rides, Homemade Festive Centerpieces, Christmas themed art created by local artists, and FREE Streetcar rides!
