8 habits of “Basics”
1) Using the phrase “I can’t even…”
“Why is six afraid of seven? Because seven can’t even.”
2) B*tch face.
Maybe it’s natural for them, but there are few insults better than telling a basic to “Fix your face.”
3) Name dropping.
It’s very important for other people to know where they got their purse from, who it is designed by, and who they met while buying it.
4) Overdosing on Nutella and Starbucks.
Nutella isn’t hazelnut and doesn’t provide protein; it’s honestly just a jar of chocolate.
5) Having an obsession with Scandal and Pretty Little Liars.
Scandal has lost its flare and none of the characters are likable. Pretty Little Liars is about a show of girls caught up in a twisted life-threatening situation because they refused to call the cops in the first three episodes.
6) Artsy Instagram pictures not looking at the camera.
In an attempt to seem less self-centered, basics tend to post pictures with their friends in an unnecessary pose accompanied by a Marilyn Monroe quote that Marilyn Monroe never even said. (Faces in photo blurred to protect privacy)
7) Country concert pictures.
The pictures tend meet the following criteria: Cowboy hat, boots, and typically piggybacking on a friend in the parking lot.
8) Crazy collages.
Because choosing one photo is too hard, basics throw all their favorite photos together and call it art.
