What’re you involved with that you’re most passionate about and why? I volunteer at the Free Clinic, and every day that I’m there, I have to interact with so many different kinds of patients.  This experience has taught me the importance of being patient with others and how to understand and try to create solutions for problems at hand! My supervisor there is also such an inspiration to me.  She’s had such a diverse and interesting background which makes her a very successful clinician (and definitely someone I look upto).
What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a dentist- probably an orthodontist or an oral/maxillofacial surgeon.
What made you decide to do that? I’ve always liked the healthcare field. At one point I worked for a cosmetic plastic surgeon.  I loved the glamour of it and thought I wanted to be a cosmetic plastic surgeon when I grew up. I later shadowed a reconstructive plastic surgeon and realized how life changing some of those procedures were to the patients.  Dentistry was honestly the perfect balance between these two fields because I can do both aesthetic/reconstructive work with my patients’!
