In 2017, São Paulo will receive great international musicians of different genres to please and shake everyone. We are going to have, one more time, the popular Lollapalooza festival, solo shows from pop, folk to heavy metal and many others, take a look at this list of confirmed international attractions in the city:
1. Jake Bugg
Thursday, March 9th – Citibank Hall
Young Londoner Jake Bugg came to São Paulo for the first time in 2014 to perform at the Lollapalooza music festival. In March he returns to our city to play on the stage of Citibank Hall and the tickets cost from R$ 100.00 to R$ 400.00.
2. The Pretty Reckless
Friday, March 10th – Espaço das Américas
Alternative rock band The Pretty Reckless made a mark on the music scene by releasing singles like “Make me wanna die” and “Heaven Knows.” Taylor Momsen, lead singer of the band, was already known for her role as Jenny Humphrey in the TV Show Gossip Girl. The band’s tour will go through 4 Brazilian capitals: Curitiba (on March 7th, at the Teatro Positivo), Rio de Janeiro (on March 9th, at Vivo Rio), São Paulo (on March 10th, at the Espaço das Américas) and Belo Horizonte (on March 11th, at the Serraria Souza Pinto).
3. Lollapalooza
Saturday and Sunday, March 25th and 26th – Autódromo de Interlagos
This year the music festival takes place at the Autódromo de Interlagos and brings as headliners the heavy metal band Metallica (on Saturday) and the alternative rock from The Strokes (on Sunday). The price of the Lolla Pass (whole) is R$ 920,00 and the Lolla Day R$ 540,00. In addition to the headliners, The Weeknd, The XX, Melanie Martinez and Two Door Cinema Club are ones of the most expected attractions.
4. The 1975
Monday, March 27th – Audio Club and Saturday, March 25th – Lollapalooza, Autódromo de Interlagos
The English band would perform on September 23th of 2016 at Audio Club, however, a week earlier, Time for Fun announced a sudden change in the date of the show for March 27th, 2017. Soon rumors appeared, saying that the band would be in the Lollapalooza’s Line Up (due to the proximity of the new date with the festival). After that, the rumors have been confirmed and now we have opportunity to enjoy a double dose of singles like “Chocolate”, “Girls” and “Somebody Else” in São Paulo.
5. Justin Bieber
Saturday, April 1st – Allianz Parque
Justin Bieber returns to Brazil after releasing the album Purpose with the hits “What do you mean”, “Sorry” and “Love Yourself. The singer confirmed two presentations in the country: Rio de Janeiro (on March 29th, in Apoteose Square) and São Paulo (on April 1st, in Allianz Park).
6. Elton John and James Taylor
Thursday, April 6th – Allianz Parque
Elton John and James Taylor will play in 4 capitals of the country, and São Paulo will be their last stop here. The duo will also present in Curitiba (on March 31th, at Pedreira Paulo Leminski), Rio de Janeiro (on April 1st, at Praça da Apoteose) and Porto Alegre (on April 4th, at Anfiteatro Beira-Rio). Tickets cost from R$ 125,00 to R$ 780,00.
7. Evanescence
Sunday, April 23th – Espaço das Américas
April is also the month we can listen live “Bring me to life”, “Call me when you’re sober” and “Going under”. In addition to São Paulo, the American band performs in Brasilia (on April 20th, at Net Live) and in Rio de Janeiro (on April 22th, at Vivo Rio).
8. Paolo Nutini
Saturday, April 29th – Audio Club
You may have heard the romantic “Candy” on the radio or in some TV show. For those who enjoy soft sounds with influences of pop and folk, Paolo Nutini is an excellent choice. The singer comes for the first time to Brazil in an unique presentation on the stage of Audio Club. Tickets cost from R$ 180,00 to R $ 280,00.
9. Ed Sheeran
Sunday, May 28th – Allianz Parque
Ed Sheeran released two new songs: “Shape of you” and “Castle on the hill”, the songs are part of his new album ‘Divide’ that will be officially released on March 3rd. To publicize the work, Sheeran will perform in 4 Brazilian cities: Curitiba (on May 23th, in the Paulo Leminski Quarry), Rio de Janeiro (on May 25th at Rio Arena), São Paulo (on May 28th at the Palmeiras Arena) and Belo Horizonte (on May 30th at the Esplanade do Mineirão).
10. The Maine
Saturday, July 15th – Tropical Butantã
In April The Maine released the album Lovely Little Lonely and shortly thereafter the band will once again be in Brazil with 7 confirmed shows: São Paulo (on July 15th, at the Tropical Butantã), Limeira/SP (on July 16th, at the Bar da Montanha), Porto Alegre (on July 18th, at the Teatro CIEE), Curitiba (on July 19th, unconfirmed location), Brasília (on July 21th, at the Atomic Music Festival), Belo Horizonte (on July 22th, at the Teatro Bradesco) and Rio de Janeiro (on July 23th, at the Circo Voador).
