The soundly voice and overt charisma soon announced the “Calouro Show” host and creator, Leonardo Levatti. Shyly, he talked about the path he had built since he got into Cásper Líbero University, in 2012. Future communicator, the senior is enjoying his last few months of college dedicating himself to academic features and campus friends, as graduation is an ever-closer reality.
Leonardo Levatti chose Cásper Líbero University to pursue his career as a journalist because he considered the institution’s tradition within the area of Social Communication – and a perfect place to learn while practicing. “Campus has many facilities where we can really feel Journalism and experience it in all instances”, said the student referring to the great quantity of house organs, which he had attended since his first semester.
Talking about career opportunities, the campus celeb remembered Gazeta AM Radio Station as his favorite thing from Cásper. “Gazeta is the place where I found my passion for radio and amazing surprises about radio-journalism. In addition, mostly, Gazeta was my first internship; I worked there as a monitor, so professionally it was my beginning”, emphasizes Levatti. When it comes to daily life, this senior thinks the best part of Cásper Líbero is to live among dreamers; casperians are people who dream big! “By my side, I see people who are not afraid to chase their dreams from all places I’ve been to, especially in the Journalism area, people are often very pessimistic.”
Leonardo also had a big opportunity as an intern at Globo Television broadcaster, in the sector of TV shows production. “The contracts last only a year, so they are used to hire seniors. I was very lucky because the broadcaster hired me when I was a junior and it was such an experience.” He has also joined the television productions from Casperian house organs, which are, by the way, Vem Comigo and Edição Extra.
What about leisure time? When Levatti is not studying or working, he loves to sing and listen to music. “I have a very eclectic taste, and I know it seems cliché, but it is truth”. Between his preferences, Leo points Brazilian classic rhythms, as MPB and samba, and mentions Diogo Nogueira as one of his favorite artists. Regarding sports, the future journalist plays futsal in Clube Homs (in Paulista Avenue) and likes to narrate soccer games. “This part is a hobby; however it is also my dream.”
Not worried about the future, Leonardo adds “I may not know where I want to be in ten years, but I want be aligned among my principles and values, independently of the place I will be.” He also completes, “I want to enter in the people’s house and bring them happiness. I want to be the person that adds something to my spectator.” It does not matter if it is through television, radio or a traditional media vehicle, Levatti conquers by each step, and takes from Cásper experience the willing to change the world with his singularities.
From the moment Leo Levatti got into university to now, about to graduate, he sees a few changes: he is more calmer, more mature, and less anxious. The past four years taught him to deal with time, knowing that we all need to learn does not comes with hurry.
Advice for freshmen: “Have a goal. Nevertheless, experiment all the possibilities you may find. Do not waste Cásper’s potential, because you can rediscover yourself in some other incredible ways. Moreover, have your principles in mind.”
Leonardo will be presenting Edição Extra this Sunday at 11pm
