It is no secret that Marvel is on fire with the fourth phase of its cinematic universe. After the fame of the Avengers franchise, the studio decided to follow the steps of our favorite characters after the end of “Endgame”, resulting in a whole new era with remarkable stories to tell. One of these is “The Falcon And The Winter Soldier”, the next Marvel series to come to Disney+. Since its premiere is very soon, we decided to put together everything we already know about the show. Check it out!
What is the plot about?
The Falcon And The Winter Soldier follows the story of Sam Wilson (Falcon) and Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier) right after the end of Endgame. That is after Sam took Captain America’s shield as a gift from Steve Rogers and became the new version of the hero. However, the world is still a mess after Thanos’ plan and, in an attempt to fight villains and protect the country, Sam and Bucky decide to get together and start a team, the two being the most unpredictable duo ever!Â
Besides that, we also know that the main villain of the show will be Zemo, the same bad guy from the comics that has a very cold heart and wills to kill every single superhero on the planet. He was arrested in “Captain America: Civil War” after T’Challa (Black Panther) handed him over to the CIA, and now that he got away, he definitely seems heartless as ever.
Who are the stars?
In the show, Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprise their roles of Falcon and Winter Soldier, respectively. Besides them, Daniel BrĂĽhl will be, once again, Zemo, just like in “Captain America: Civil War”. Emily VanCamp will be Sharon Carter, Peggy Carter’s great-niece and Agent 13, who was first seen in “Captain America And The Winter Soldier”.Â
As a fresh face, we have Wyatt Russel, who is playing a new character for the show: John Walker. In the comics, he is known as the U.S. Agent, a guy that tries to be a hero by copying Captain America, but, without having the ethics to do so, he ends up being a bad guy. According to some theories, he will appear in the new Marvel series trying to steal Steve Rogers’ shield from Sam, but nothing is confirmed yet.
When does it come out?
The series will premiere worldwide on Disney+ on March 19th, following the same system that WandaVision had: one episode per week. In total, the show will have six 1-hour episodes coming out every Friday at 3:00 AM Eastern Time.
Theories?Â
Just like every other, this wouldn’t be a Marvel production if it didn’t have any theories or references coming along. One of the most talked-about is that Don Cheadle, in an interview for BroBible’s Post-Credit Podcast, gave a clue that his character, James Rhodes (War Machine), will probably have an appearance in the show at some point.
Furthermore, some reliable sources from the set revealed that the fans will be able to see the Falcon’s new costume, more related to the one worn by Steve Rogers in the comics. This certainly represents a very significant moment, since it could be a piece of evidence that Sam is finally comfortable with being the new Captain America.Â
Finally, we definitely can’t wait for “Falcon And The Winter Soldier” to come out! Our expectations are beyond high and I personally believe it will be just as mind-blowing as “WandaVision” is. After all, this is Marvel Studios we are talking about, everything tends to be astonishing — and to play with our hearts.
