Karina Longworth tells stories about personalities, famous rivalries, love affairs, crimes and all the major events with a rich social and political context. The episodes are incredibly well-researched and informative and have between 30-55 minutes.

Overinsvested is an excellent podcast about pop culture. The two presenters, Gavia Baker-Whitelaw and Morgan Leigh Davies, choose each week a movie or tv serie to deeply discuss about their topics and issues. They also talk about recent movies/programs, however they have a special programs about old classics too, like “Casablanca”. The episodes have from 35-55 minutes.

#3 Help Me Be Me by Sarah May B.
Help Me Be Me by Sarah May B. is a self-help podcast for “people who hate self-help” according to her own definition. In each episode she brings a delicate situation related to conflicted feelings like rejection, joy, fear, sadness, among others, and split the episode into three parts: 1) What, 2) Why and 3) The tools for the listener to deal with the issue. They last between 30 min to one hour and there are also short ones between 10-20 minutes.

Fansplaing is for all the people who love fandoms. The podcast explores the multiples aspects of fandoms and fanfictions, as well it’s impact on the life of people who are a part of one. The chats between the two presenters, Flourish Klink and Elizabeth Minkel, are always relaxed, but also very enlightening and they usually bring great guests in special episodes. Them both also publish the transcripts of each episode for those who don’t have time to listen.

Chicks Who Script, produced by Maggie Levin, Emily Blake and Lauren Schacher interviews screenwriters, both men and women, about their careers. They also talk about cool female characters in movies/TV series and how it is to be a woman in this industry. This podcast is great if you have some curiosity about this kind of work or about how great stories are created. Each episodes has one hour.
