The fashion shows in summer/spring 2020, which took place a  few months ago, brought many trends and has finally arrived to the market bringing classic pieces with a novelty, an updated touch to fresh tailoring, there’s a big amount of looks for everyone’s  style, including a variety  of outfits that are more modern  and nostalgic. So to be aware of how to be in style this summer, and change your wardrobe, come check this list to get inspired!

Puffed Sleeves

We started to see the puff-sleeve trend pop up in spring 2018, however they  made their way into 2020, and certainly came to stay. The oversize sleeves have presented itself in many variations: the balloon, the Juliet, the leg-of-mutton, and so on, whether the swell is focussed on your shoulder, or more gradual down your arm, they always add an extra charm to  the outfit.

Tricot Vests

The knitted vests — they came directly from the 90’, and when you think of them the image of Chandler Bing drinking coffee in Central Perk probably crossed your mind. Almost 30 years passed by and they are back with fresh connotations. The piece has been spotted in the catwalk of Dior, Prada and Lacoste 2020 and  many other collections. Of course, it didn’t take long for the tricot vest to turn into a trend. In terms of styling, for the summer, oversize versions of the item are being worn alone or with shorts and jeans, while for cooler days, sweater vests are being paired with collared shirts or dresses, very versatile.

Mint Fresh

Considered a cousin of pistachio, mint green became a hot trend last year and still remains as one of the colors of 2020. Being an easy color to wear, it goes with other pastel tons, matching a lot with pink and blue. This shade of green just screams summer, always soft and fresh.

Tops and Blazers

That is right, blazers never get out of style, is that fundamental piece that completes the outfit and gives the look a more elegant touch. In 2020, the blazers get out of the classic ‘office look’ to something more casual, no blouses, no t-shirts, only the already known –  bra top. It’s the perfect way to show a bit of skin without being too exposed, using the juxtaposition technique (an oversize blazer and a small top) makes the outfit a lot more stylish and classy.

Colored Leather

You probably already invested in the classic black leather jacket. This year the classic was reinvented and gives us another alternative of how to wear leather, is the – Colorful leather trend – It first appeared in the fashion shows of Louis Vuitton and Givenchy 2020 and since then it started to dominate the street style. Even though when you go with the black pieces nothing can go wrong, the colors bring a feeling of freshness and make the look  more cooler.

White Jeans

A little ordinary but never out of style, this pants come back in a new shape ‘the wilde leg pants’, in a combo with white denim they have everything to be the new look in the season. The white jeans was also been spotted recently in Milan and New York during Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2020-2021. A must have piece in the mid-season wardrobe.

 Chunky Boots With Dresses

The chunky platform boots are both edgy and comfortable, they might look like the piece to use only during those months that the weather is freezing, but with this new trend, they came along with the classic summer dresses. This combination has already been seen in the streets and in the catwalk, so it got everything to be one of the trendiest looks for this spring/summer.

The spring/summer 2021 fashion shows brought indeed many tendencies, and the fashionable people already adapted from the runway to the streets, showing how we can wear the catwalk looks in real life, there are many options for all kinds of  style and taste. Hope this list helped you to get inspired and excited about what to wear this season!
