The multipurpose room was filled with undergrads and alumni of our amazing institution. It was a standing room and it was only 10 pm. No one planned on leaving since  the night was just getting started.  St.Jude Up âtil Dawn is an annual event held on the campus of Clark Atlanta University. It includes members of NPHC organizations, and those who are invited to showcase their talents. All proceeds are donated to the patients at St.Jude Childrenâs Research Hospital so they are free of any medical costs.
The show started with the committee team that spearheaded the entire event. After a few short introductions, the hosts decided to poke fun at the ongoing Clark Atlanta University vs. Morehouse College rivalry. The first group to the stage were the men of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. After a slow walk to the stage while singing one of their own hymns, they broke into a skit about their brother that had been kidnapped. They were on a mission to get him back and it required them to step like never before.
Next, was one of our usual rivalries: East Coast vs. West Coast. However, this time the hosts decided to add in the Midwest and the South. It turned into a ten minute dance off before the ladies of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. took the stage. They began declaring the yard as their own before breaking into their upbeat step to the summer classic “Wild Thoughts” by DJ Khaled ft. Rihanna. The crowd was hype and before we knew it, their sisters who were in the audience had joined in.
Next up was Bria Anai, a student of Clark Atlanta University with the voice of an entire choir performed with two background dancers. She sang an original piece named “One of A Kind”.  House Arrest II C10, a  group that LOVES to show off their dance skills performed shortly after. There was not a beat missed to be caught from this group of energetic beings.  The OGs took the stage and performed their signature stroll to “Wipe Me Down” by Lil Boosie.
Next up, the men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. When these guys show up, they show owt. Their newest members took the stage while their prophytes watched to the side of the stage. The new guys showed owt and got the crowd excited before hopping off the stage and joining their prophytes in a stroll. The members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. joined in as well. After a long intermission, the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. surprised us all with a performance of their signature stroll to “Do It” by Mykko Montana.
The men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. took the stage. Our very own Undergraduate VP gave an amazing spoken word about his love for both his institution and his organization. One of the last performances was by Domani Harris, son of Atlantaâs very own T.I., rapped a few of his very own songs. Heâs clearly doing an amazing job of creating his own path. The show was great and we canât wait until next yearâs display of amazing talent.
