Chloe and Halle are the two, soon to be, infamous sisters from Atlanta, Georgia. No not twins, sisters. Chloe was born July 1st, 1998 and Halle March 27th, 2000. These girls have been actively progressing in their musical careers since 2013. They can be found on YouTube making covers to “Pretty Hurts” and “Best Thing I Never Had” by Beyonce, along with songs by Ariana Grande and John Legend. The sisters have done more that has proven that they are more than cover artists. In just five years the girls have released one EP “Sugar Symphony”, one mixtape, “The Two Of Us”  and most recently an album, The Kids Are Alright. On top of being singers and signed to Queen Bey herself, they are two supporting actresses on the hit show “Grown-ish”. The two are labeled as R&B contemporary artists but they are much more. These girls are in their own lane and it is shown in their music and fashion. To say that these artists have done something that pushes the limits of music is an understatement. They are even more admirable because while they are signed to Beyonce, they are not trying to be her. Their sound is completely different. I admire the sisters because they are not typical nor predictable. They have sex appeal like most but they don’t use it to get famous, especially because they have such a younger demographic.
Their latest album features artists like Goldlink and Joey Badass. This project is probably the most relatable album of the year. This album talks about issues that almost every teenager is going to have to deal with in their lives at least once. From love and heartbreak on “Happy Without Me” to having to deal with fakeness and haters on “Fake”, these girls have made it clear that they have no problem expressing how they feel. I could listen to this entire album every day without skips and that says a lot. There are not many albums that I can listen to all the way through, but this one is just THAT good. This album is definitely not for everyone and that is completely okay. But if you just so happen to be that carefree girl that loves anything that sounds like it was made for fairies by fairies, you will absolutely love it. They are the definition of black girl magic. They make beautiful art and speak out on social issues prominent in the black community. Even if their music isn’t your cup of tea you should like them for who they are as young prominent, successful, black women.
Now Let’s get into these Visuals’.
When the sisters released The Kids Are Alright they dropped a short film that went with it, can I just say… MIND BLOWN. The concept for this short film was amazing and their creative directors Cara Stricker and Kwasi Fordjour deserve an award. From their outfits to the sets, everything was on point. Even some of the most questionable parts of the video worked, and that is definitely not something everyone can do. They are queens, fairies, mermaids and a force to be reckoned with. If you want to know more, you are just going to have to watch it yourself! It is the first link below.
