It’s the beginning of the year and you have the attitude that anything is possible and positivity is key. You’re doing well in your classes, everyone wants to be your friend, your social life is poppin’, and you believe you’ve met the love of your life. Life is GREAT! That is, until you’re lost in the sauce and your life takes a 360 degree turn into hell. As you were so consumed of what was happening in the sauce, Â you didn’t even notice your grades slipping into the cracks, the “friends” you had suddenly disappeared, and you lost sense of yourself.
However, whenever this moment comes in your life, know that you’re not alone and better days are to come.There are many students who tend to get lost in the sauce and I was one of them. I lost the ambition to attend class and the relationship with my significant other was my only priority. I realized my situation was a wide awakening and I wanted to change my life, so I DID! As each young woman is different, listed below are a few steps in order to gain control of your life again.
Step One: Spend time with Yourself. As a young intelligent woman, you must take a few days to yourself in which you have a self reflection. It is always best to take a step back in life and realize that everything that is going wrong will not last forever.  As HE only gives his toughest battles to his strongest soilders.
Step Two: Realizing your Worth. As you have realized your place, you must use your worth against the negativity in your life; remember you did not magically appear in the position in which you are overnight. *In the words of DJ Khaled, “You smart, you loyal, you is kind”
Step Three: Setting Realistic Goals. After realizing your worth and remembering how you achieved your position with your self reflection, begin to create further goals in which will help to raise your own expectations of yourself; higher expectations help to create higher self esteem and happiness once achieving those set goals. Remember you are only in the beginning of changing your life around, so do not be too hard on yourself. Lastly, always breathe in and out as you begin and end your day, you do not want to work yourself too hard even though you are putting in all gas and no breaks towards your future better self.
Step Four: Putting the Goals in Motion. Upon creating those goals, create a plan in which you will use to actually achieve those goals.
Step Five:Â Taking it One Day at a Time. After you have set your goals list, begin to follow these goals and learn more about yourself on the way; self improvement is the best way to grow.
It’s a process, so try not to measure or set a deadline for your progress. You’re still only a human being and only so much can change in such a short amount of time. Just watch as you become a better you daily and only the best can come from there.
Remember, everyone has a downfall, but it takes the most elite women to PULL THEMSELVES TOGETHER! We are all young and vulnerable, we will all make mistakes and as the world goes around; you lose some, you win some,but remember it is okay to be lost in the sauce.
