One of the best things about Christmas are the movies. Here’s six of my favorite Christmas movies that are great for the whole family.
- This Christmas  Produced by Will Packer (Think Like A Man(Too), Ride Along(2), Girls Trip), This Christmas is a classic that I’m sure everyone has probably already seen. The ensemble consist of Loretta Devine, Regina King, Lauren London, Chris Brown, Idris Elba, Sharon Leal, and more! This movie is centered around the Whitfield family and it’s Christmas so everyone is coming together at Ma’Dere’s house, the matriarch of the family. This movie is full of family drama, ups and downs, laughing and crying, but it all comes together at the end.Â
- The Best Man Holiday The Best Man Holiday is the sequel to the classic movie we all love, The Best Man. This movie shows where the characters of the original movie are, 15 years later. It’s Christmas time so they all come together at Lance (Morris Chestnut) and Mia’s (Monica Calhoun) house. There is still tension between Lance and Harper (Taye Diggs) , but Mia is determined to make the best out of having everyone together again. This hilarious and talented cast also includes, Sanaa Lathan, Regina Hall, Terrence Howard, Nia Long, Harold Perrineau, and Melissa De Sousa. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, but it’s a movie to remember and one of the best you’ll see.Â
- Almost Christmas  Also produced by Will Packer, Almost Christmas has an all star cast, Gabrielle Union, Mo’Nique, Danny Glover, J.B Smoove, Omar Epps, Kimberly Elise, Nicole Ari Parker, Romany Malco, Keri Hilson, and a few others. This is the first Christmas for the Meyer’s family without their mother, so as the family all gathers at the family home during the holiday, Walter Meyer (Danny Glover) is determined to get his family to all get along and have a great Christmas. This movie is full of laughs and unexpected drama.Â
- The Perfect Holiday  This movie is perfect for the whole family. Gabrielle Union plays a divorced mom with three kids, and the single life is taking a toll on her. One trip to the mall to see Santa, the youngest daughter wishes for her mom to be happy again by getting a date. Santa, also known as Benjamin, is played by Morris Chestnut, and he takes it into his own hands to make Nancy (Gabrielle Union) happy by taking her out. Also, Queen Latifah and Terrence Howard play sort of the good angel, bad angel roles, giving everyone a laugh. This is the perfect mixture of romance, comedy, and the holidays.Â
- Last Holiday Any movie with Queen Latifah is going to be good, but adding LL Cool J to the mix, you know it’s going to be one for the books. In this movie, Queen Latifah plays Georgia Byrd, a woman who has just been diagnosed with an illness so she decides to live her best life, and takes out her savings money and goes to Europe. LL Cool J plays Sean Matthews, Georgia’s longtime crush. This is a great heartfelt, romantic comedy, that’ll probably have you wanting to loosen up a little by the end of the movie.Â
- A Madea Christmas  With any Madea movie, you can always be prepared to laugh and this movie’s cast has a different dynamic than most of Tyler Perry’s other movies. Madea’s niece, Eileen (Anna Maria Horsford), plans a trip to surprise her daughter, Lacey (Tika Sumpter), who lives in the country and has been hiding the fact that she’s married to a white man, Connor (Chad Murray). Lacey lies and says Connor is her employee, but when Connor’s parents come into town as well, things start to get out of hand. This movie tackles bullying, interracial love, small towns, and family, but it still manages to have a load of fun and laughter.Â
