5 Riding Boots You Need In Your Life

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapel Hill chapter.

If I could only buy one type of shoe for the rest of my life, I’d have to go with the riding boot. Whether you’re going to class or out on the town, riding boots add sophistication and instantly pull together an outfit. Here’s some picks that will be your best investment this season and cause major shoe envy among your friends.

1. Tory Burch (Kiernan Leather Logo Riding Boot in Almond)

Tory Burch boots are a necessary addition to the wardrobe of lovers of all things preppy. A true classic, these boots can be worn with leggings, colored or plain jeans, or a cute dress. The gold Tory logo is refined and will draw all eyes (and compliments) to these beautiful boots. Avoid wearing them to parties or places where they may get damaged, you’ll want to take care of these high price tag stunners so you can show them off for years to come.

2. Frye (Rider Logo Boot in Redwood)

Any type of shoe made by Frye is going to be the best quality and a stand out. I’ve owned my pair of Fryes for about four months and I could not ask for a better boot! The Rider Boot is sleek with the added sophistication of the intricate monogram logo and wrap around buckle. Rich redwood can be accented with any gold, silver, or pearl accessory. A word to the wise: be prepared for a few days of discomfort while breaking them in.

3. Steve Madden OTK Over the Knee Boots in Black Leather

Steve Madden added some edge (and length) to a classic style with these boots. The over the knee trend has been seen on top runways such as Ralph Lauren and Pucci as well a favorite of Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively. The height may be intimidating, but keep proportions sleek with dark denim or leather leggings and any girl can feel like a supermodel in these boots!

4. Michael Kors Collection Mina Boot in Coffee

Michael has done it again! The Mina Boot is polished and comfortable with its quilted texture. Keep the look going with a quilted vest and shiny gold studs. Having a zipper on the back will be a life saver when putting on and taking off, you won’t need your best friends to pull the boots off your feet! The Mina also comes in black, so it may be irresistible not to buy both colors! Go on, they’re beautiful and well worth the splurge.

5. Merona Kasia Leather Riding Boot in Burnished Red

Lookalike alert! The Kasia boot could be the twin of Frye’s popular Melissa Button Boot that retails for over $300 dollars! If you’re on a tight budget while desiring a taste of luxury, these are the boots for you.  They may not last as long as their Frye counterpart, but you won’t have to be nervous about pairing them with your favorite party-ready looks on the weekends!
