7 Great Date Outfits for Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapel Hill chapter.

Whether it’s your first Valentine’s together or your fifth, you can always look cute for this special day. While you want to impress your Valentine’s date, you also want to be comfortable and confident. Just as a heads up the weather forecast for Friday is a high of 50, low of 24, and a 60% chance of rain. Here are a few ideas for what you can wear based on what you’re doing:

Day Date:

Maybe you’re going to lunch, bowling, seeing a movie, or something else different and fun on Valentine’s.

Since it’ll be fairly chilly but not too cold, some black skinny jeans or colored jeans with flats look great with a cute top or blouse. Dress it up with a little lipstick or a fun purse and some sunglasses if you’ll be outside, and you’re all set to look fab all day. And don’t forget an umbrella!

Another great day option is a cute dress with jean jacket, boots, and a light scarf. Throw on some heart earrings to make it more Valentine’s-looking and enjoy your day!

Casual Night In:

Not everyone loves to do something big and fancy for February 14 so if you and your date are spending the night in cooking, ordering in, watching movies, etc. you can go super casual with your outfit or something still cute and fun.

Jeans are a great comfy option for staying in but fun shoes and a dressy top will still make this outfit stand-out on your special night

Fancy Night Out:

If you’ve got a big night planned with a fancy dinner, dancing under the stars, or whatever other great date idea you’ve put together, there are some great options to look the part.

You can’t go wrong with a LBD or a LRD (little black dress or little red dress) and some jazzy heels. Add a cute clutch and a statement necklace and you’ll be good to go! If the LBD is a little too fancy for you, you could also choose a classy, more subtle option of low heels and a pretty dress. A cute purse and neutral jewelry will be perfect additions.

If you’re not too fond of wearing dresses, here’s another cute and sexy option for the night. Grab some cute leather jeans, closed-toe pumps, and a fun festive top and you’ll be a knockout.
