This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapel Hill chapter.

Are you prepared to fall in love? Please allow Her Campus to introduce to you, the amazing Ping Nguyen! He is a senior and a Women’s/Gender Studies major. Born in Rock Hill, South Carolina, where he says “the tea is sweet and the people are sweeter,” Ping is truly one of a kind! His campus involvement will blow you away; he is the Executive Co – Editor of The Siren Magazine, a McNair Scholar, a Carolina Admissions Ambassador, a One – Act Peer Educator, Gender Non-Specific Housing Outreach Chair, GO! Advisor Board Member, and a Movement of Youth Counselor!  Ping is most passionate about women’s right and gender equality. Seriously, what is there not to love?

Favorite color: Lavender because I  look fierce in it

Favorite hobby: Drinking….water! and TURN UP!

Fun Fact: I got my name from Mulan (Ping)

Favorite food: Fried chicken, it soothes and tenders the soul

Celebrity Crush: Morgan Johnson, my co-editor. Not a “celebrity” but she is a star in my heart.

Biggest Turn – Offs: Misogyny

Most awkward moment in life (so far): when I texted the wrong person, asking them “aye boy, what are you wearing?”

Future Career Goal: a fierce professor

Favorite Song: Anything by my man John Legend. When he sings, my world is alright.

Most inspirational person: Besides the Lorde (Audre), my father. If one day, I can be half of a father to my child, I would be happy.

Best Pick-up Line: Aye boy, what’s your major?

Perfect – Date Night: Something unexpected. One time, my date and I drove all over Raleigh at 1:00 am to find doughnuts. Best date! Hands down.

Dream Job: To be honest, I don’t know. But I know I will be doing transformative activist work.

Most Passionate about: Equity- I want to live in a world where differences are not feared, but cherished; not hierarchical, but valued; not equal, but equitable.

Tell us a secret: When I am little tipsy, I think I am Pocahontas.

Words to live by: “Homo sum, humani nihil a me alienum puto” Translation:  “I am a human being, I consider nothing that is human alien to me.” -Terrence
