As they say, fashion was made for fall. And fall is certainly in the air at Carolina! Cute boots, cozy scarves, and motorcycle jackets have finally made their long-awaited return to wardrobes everywhere as nights become crisper and we cherish the last few weeks of sunshine. Even in the midst of midterms and papers, UNC collegiettes never fail to impress. Check out some of the most stylish ladies spotted last week on campus!
Masyn Burgess, ‘15
Junior Masyn Burgess’ outfit is all about the details – from a pretty floral headband to a lacey bandeau. In maroon leggings and a flowy top, she’s really nailing how to dress comfortably in this transition weather. “I go for the indie type thing,” she says. Her favorite place to shop is Urban Outfitters.
Mary Vu, ‘17
Freshman Mary Vu describes her style as “very girly but simple.” A great example of the layering that comes in handy in sub-zero lecture halls, she proves that a slouchy look can be anything but sloppy. Her black velvet skirt looks effortlessly chic when paired with with chunky, oversized knits. Mary loves to shop at Urban Outfitters and Forever 21 for trendy but inexpensive pieces.
Abbey Pope, ‘17
Freshman Abbey Pope demonstrates how one statement piece can make you stand out in a sea of students during class change. “I like a lot of pink and bright colors,” she says, describing her style as “preppy.” She takes a summer outfit right into fall by swapping in dark skinny jeans and letting her shirt do the talking. She loves gold jewelry and ties everything together with a gold monogram necklace – matching her watch with gold-trimmed Jack Rogers.
Ginger Melton, ‘17
Think pink! Freshman Ginger Melton coordinates different shades of pink in easy fall layers. She says her style has gotten more preppy since she joined a sorority this year, but that she still loves an edgy look. Her beloved and classic Frye boots complete the outfit with a wear-everywhere denim shirt.
Xingyue Sarah He, ‘15
Sarah’s look combines old fall favorites like a black motorcycle jacket and brown leather booties with unexpected patterns and unique pieces. In a great example of pattern mixing gone right, she hits the perfect tone with a simple striped shirt and loose red plaid pants. Her style? “Whatever I’m feeling,” she said. “I like to be weird and different.” Her bag adds a subtle pop of color while she keeps the jewelry minimal and sleek. So chic!
