Campus Style: Tori Mitchell ’17

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapel Hill chapter.

Hailing from the heart of North Carolina, Tori Mitchell emblematizes the sweeter side of a city that has earned the moniker, “Rough Raleigh.” A first-year, Mitchell has already undertaken a formidable course of study here at UNC, currently majoring in economics with a prospective minor in Spanish for the Professions. On campus, she is a sister of Sigma Sigma Sigma and a pledge for Alpha Kappa Psi, the oldest and largest professional, co-ed business fraternity. She is also on the community events committee for UNC Dance Marathon. With an arsenal of statement pieces and a cache of extracurricular activities, this fashion maven is living proof that Carolina girls really are the best in the world!

HC: Describe your style for us.

TM: I’m pretty preppy. My influence is straight out of the pages of a J. Crew magazine.

HC: Where else do you shop besides J. Crew?

TM: I love The Gap, Francesca’s, and Forever 21.

HC: What’s your go-to look for class? What about for a night out on Franklin Street?

TM: For class, black leggings with an oversized sweater and a scarf with riding boots. For a night out, a little black dress with a statement necklace—I’m obsessed with them—and booties.

HC: Cute! What trends are you loving right now? Any trends you’d like to see go out?

TM: My favorite trend would have to be vests and as far for trends I want to see go out, harem pants. It’s just the slouch and sag of them. I’m also not into the funky patterns.

HC: What’s something that should be in every girl’s closet?

TM: Riding boots, definitely.

HC: Fashion quote you live by?

TM: Just wear whatever makes you feel good!
