Even When Life Gets You Down, Don’t Forget The Friends Who Lift You Up

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapel Hill chapter.

Life isn’t always easy; that much is plain to see, but it doesn’t have to be something you face alone.

With midterms, finals and all sorts of other projects on the rise, it’s easy to get bogged down in the stresses of academic life. It’s also easy to forget the friends you have right there beside you, cheering you on and rooting for you the entire time. Friendship is a gift; it’s important, and we can’t let the stressors of school life keep us from recognizing that. Who I am when I’m with my friends is so much better than who I am when I fight battles alone.

Just remember, facing the stressors of life together is so much better than facing them alone. We can, but we shouldn’t have to, and we don’t have to. When life is getting you down, don’t be afraid to ask your friends for help.

Whether it’s a fun night out, a girl’s night in or anything in between, reach out to your friends when you need some support. When you need a break from studying, go grab some ice cream with your friends, put on a facemask, paint your nails and have a good time with people who are always there to support you.

Life is about more than exams, grades and rubrics for assignments — it’s about the people you have in it. Don’t forget those people, no matter where you’re at in life.
