Sun beating down, tension mounting, fans screaming, makeup streaming- wait, no!

Whether you prefer to be au naturale or always leave the dorm fully made-up, there are a few things we should all keep in mind when it comes to our skin and makeup routine on game days (even the boys)!

Our skin takes a beating every day, from the invisible glare of UV rays or the battering of airborne toxins. When we are packed into a stadium seat sweating and exposed, these stresses are magnified.

Below are a few products to keep you looking your best and your skin fresh during those grueling hours in Kenan Stadium.

1. Plaster on the sunscreen. Use a product without an oily base and with a SPF no greater than 45. They work just as well as SPF 50, 75 or 100. Don’t forget to reapply between tailgating and the game! A stick like this one (Clinique Sun SPF 45 Targeted Protection Stick) is great for those areas getting the most sun- nose, cheeks, and the top of your ears!

2. Avoid heavy foundation and powders. These will only clog your pores and leave your skin worse for wear. Try using a spot concealer or a tinted moisturizer (with SPF 15 is even better). This Neutrogena SkinClearing Blemish Concealer works to fight acne spots as well.

3. If you’re going to wear blush or bronzer, try a cream like this Covergirl and Olay Simply Ageless Blush- it’s infused Olay Regenerist Serum which contains vitamins, anti-oxidants, and other good stuff!

4. For any eye makeup, always use a primer or it will be gone before you reach your seat. And waterproof mascara is a must! Covergirl Intense Shadowblast is a two-in-one, primer and shadow.

5. Your lips can burn just like your skin! Keep a tube of lip balm in your pocket at all times. Chapstick Lip Shield 365 will take you from summer to fall.

6. It’s a bit of a luxury, but Evian spray can go a long way! It is designed to keep makeup in place and skin looking fresh. Invest!
