As finals week comes to a close, I started reflecting on the differences between high school finals and college finals. Here’s what I thought of:

High School

You have finals in every class.

College

You might not have a final in every class. Sometimes you could have a presentation, paper, or project.

High School

You can take a final in one class than have your regularly scheduled class right after.

College

You have a whole week devoted to finals. Yeah for more study time!

High School

Finals are mostly cumulative which means you have to remember everything you learned from the beginning of the semester.

College

Not all finals are cumulative, so here’s to only studying what you learned in the second have of the class.

High School

There aren’t as many opportunities provided by the school to help you reduce stress.

College

There are opportunities on campus to help you reduce stress, whether it be open counseling hours, pet therapy, of free food, there are a multitude of way to de-stress

High school or college, finals are still a thing that people worry about. But don’t worry! They’ll be over soon.  So in the meantime try to relax and take it one step at a time.

What are some major differences in finals that you remember?

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Maurianna served as a Senior Editor and Marketing Publicity Director before becoming Campus Correspondent.
