Michael Dinkins, a junior and a leader in the b-school and in Navy ROTC , is this week’s Campus Cutie! Aside from Michael’s ROTC commitments, he’s also the Vice President of Rituals for Alpha Kappa Psi, the professional business fraternity on campus. He’s outdoorsy and fun-loving with some of his hobbies including running, backpacking, cycling, whitetail deer hunting and squirrel hunting. Although his post-graduation plans include going into the Navy, eventually starting a family and putting his degree from Kenan-Flagler to work, riding a camel around the Great Pyramids is at the top of Michael’s bucket list. Michael’s got an appetite for adventure and even his dream job, to be an elk hunting guide in the American West, shows it.
Michael also has a special place in his heart for Carolina. He enjoys, “the atmosphere on campus before a home football or basketball game. The air is buzzing with pride, and the sky always seems to bleed Carolina blue.” Michael is also a big fan of Carolina girls; when I asked him what he like most about them he said, “the sundress cowgirl boot look…just kidding. The combination of brains and beauty. It is something not found at NC State or that little school in Durham.” His ideal date is an afternoon spent hanging out on the shore of Jordan Lake. Not bad!
With a bright future ahead of him, and a good head on his shoulders, I asked Michael if he had any words of wisdom for our Her Campus Collegiates. Mike responded, “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”- Theodore Roosevelt.
