Orange is small; Chapman students often call it the bubble. For those days when you want to get out of the little, yet lovely bubble, check out these five spots that will allow you to explore everything Orange County has to offer.
1. Alta Coffee in Newport
Nestled on a small street before the craziness of the beach, Alta Coffee is a cute, European-styled coffee shop. They have one of the best chai lattes in town and a super yummy brunch menu.
2. The Lab in Costa Mesa
Referred to as the anti-mall, The Lab has just about everything you need to eat, grab a cup of coffee, and do some shopping. From Urban Outfitters to Cafecito Organico, this place could keep you occupied for hours. A must-see (or shall I say, must-eat) is the Gypsy Den, a yummy and healthy restaurant with the best sandwiches and drinks.
3. Milk & Honey in Costa Mesa
Across the street from the Lab, Milk & Honey is the perfect hangout spot to grab a coffee, acai bowl, or even a maccaron. Their outside patio is super adorable, and it’s perfect if you just want to sit down with a friend or get some studying done.
4. Dana Point Wharf
After you are done hanging out at the beach, head over to the Pier at Dana Point where you can get some fish and chips or clam chowder. They also have plenty of cute souvenir beach shops where you can find your very own tacky, tourist keychain.
5. VICI Boutique in Newport
While Fashion Island is awesome, sometimes you just have to check out the local boutiques and see what they have to offer. Similar to Madewell and Free People, VICI has great quality clothes at solid prices that will help you build your Californian fall wardrobe.Â
