The Fashion District, located in downtown Los Angeles is the hot spot for anyone looking for new and trendy styles. 100 blocks of downtown LA are covered with shops ranging from flowers, to hats, to pants and skirts! But, for someone who is not used to all of the hustle and bustle, this experience can be very overwhelming. Here are a few helpful hints that will make menouvering around the streets a little easier so you can grab that cute shirt you have been eyeing for weeks!Â
- Merchandise can vary from day to day, so if you see something you like, get it! DO NOT hesitate because odds are it will not be there on your next shopping excursion
- If this is an all day event, some suggest having a rolling suitcase with you, all those shopping bags can get very heavy!
- Store owners are more likely to lower the price of an item if you are buyng more than one thing, negotiation is key!
- Many stores are cash only, but don’t be alarmed there are ATM’s scattered all over the 100 shopping blocks
- Some stores don’t have formal fitting rooms, so either wear layers or be prepared to let yourself out in the open!Â
- Be sure to choose your merchandise carefully, some tags will be marked with notes like “as is” saying that it cannot be returned, so keep your eyes out for those tricky tags!Â
- Make sure to wear comfortable shoes! The fashion district is not the place to sport those brand new Louis Vuitton stiletto heelsÂ
- Clothing that is easy to take on and off! You also want to be comfortabe so whatever you feel is right for your own body
- Eyes out! Someone may try and snatch those adorable shorts from you if you look away for a split second
