As a reminder of how cute the world can be, the Serpukhov Historical and Art Museum in Russia has employed and adorable little cat as a doorman. Yes, a cat. Cue the feels.

The adorable little guy, named Maray, has been hanging around the museum’s porch since 2014. This year, Head of Tourist Information Nina Strelkova and her coworker Galina Stroeva decided it would be an adorable April Fool’s joke for the cat to be looking for a job at the museum. Galina wrote an article on Maray for the museum’s website while Nina told the local and regional media that Maray wrote up a statement in hopes of getting a job at the museum, but the museum did not have a job for him. His statement pointed out that the Saint Petersburg museum has a program for Hermitage cats and relayed his close ties to the previous owner of the museum Anna Maraeva—for whom he is named after.

While Galina had stated that she and her coworkers accepted the cat’s application on probation, the museum made good on the joke and actually hired the cat. He now enjoys greeting people at the door, walks, as well as a fantastic salary of meat.

Both workers and their patrons alike love the cat. They bring him food and take pictures with him. Needless to say, this cat is set for life.

What do you think of this wild decision? Tell us in the comments!
