An Iliad at the Pittsburgh Public Theater

What It Is: This retelling of Homer’s Iliad uses modern language to bring Achilles and Helen of Troy into the 21st century. Every character in this epic production is played by one actor, Teagle F. Bougere. A Broadway veteran, he most recently played the title character in a Chicago production of Invisible Man.

Why Go?

Many of us plowed through the Iliad for a high school lit class or at least have it on our reading bucket list. There are few things more exciting than seeing favorite (or soon-to-be favorite) characters brought to life. Experience the mythology of ancient Greece without leaving Pittsburgh (or the year 2014).
