What better way to start our autumn term it than with a gift box from Her Campus HQ stuffed full of goodies? Among other items which you will hear about soon, we received two different Garnier skin care products: the Garnier Nourishing Cleaning Oil and the Garnier Blackhead Eliminating Scrub.
I tried out both so read on to see what these products are like!Â
Garnier Nourishing Cleansing Oil Â
Made with Jojoba and Macadamia oil, this product is used to hydrate, cleanse and moisturise tired and dull-looking skin. It also claims to make skin softer and smoother. It is applied to dry skin and then rinsed off with water. It feels a little bit strange to apply, as if you were rubbing cooking oil on your face. It didn’t really have any effect apart from making my skin a little softer. It also wouldn’t be good for who, like myself, who have oily or mixed skin. Overall this product falls below expectations.Â
Garnier Blackhead Eliminating ScrubÂ
This scrub is made with charcoal (yes, actual charcoal), which works like a magnet to draw out the bacteria that causes pore blockage and blackheads. It contains micro beads that help with exfoliation, but it’s hard to tell if they are actually working. However, you can feel the micro flakes rubbing against your skin as soon you apply them. A gentle abrasion lets you know that the product is activating to draw out impurities, which is very satisfying. Once washed off, my face felt refreshed, cleansed and smoother. As a plus, it also has a pleasant but not overpowering scent. Â
