When I was asked to write a profile piece, I thought who the heck am I going to do it on. I wanted to do it on someone who has inspired me. I wanted to honor them with an article that would do them justice. The first person that came to mind was Morgan McMillen.
Morgan McMillen, who is pictured above, is a face that you see around campus constantly. Morgan is a senior Duel major in Physics and Secondary Education, with a minor in Mathematics.
Morgan has been a part of the Clarion University Dance Team for the past four years. During those years she has been Captain and Vice President.
Morgan is a part of Greek Life here at Clarion University. She is a sister of Phi Sigma Sigma and a sweetheart for Sigma Chi fraternity. She pledged to Phi Sigma Sigma in Spring ’14 and she is one of the last active sisters from that pledge class. She recieved sweetheart title in Fall ’16. She currently holds an executive board position as Membership Recruitment Chair (MRC) through Phi Sigma Sigma. With this position she is in charge of her recruitment committee. She plans fall and spring semester recruitment. A lot of the decorations that are done for recruitment are props to her and her recruitment committee. She is also a part of several Greek honors organizations.
Her sisters think very highly of her. One sister in particular, Mae Miller says that “She is a great friend and always makes everyone feel loved!”
Â
She is the founding president of the National Science Teachers Association at Clarion.
She has presented at several undergraduate research fairs. Her current project is Electron Beam Lithography using the Scanning Electron Microscope.
During the summer, she spends her time as a camp counselor for the YMCA back in her hometown.
Next semester she will be finishing her degrees with Student Teaching.
Her plans after college are to become a high school physics teacher. She would like to be in and around Pennsylvania, but she will take jobs wherever they come.Â
