Graduation Dress Shopping Guide

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clark chapter.

With the stress of finals still looming, the last thing you want to think about it what you are going to wear to graduation. It’s the last event you will ever attend in college and marks the beginning of your next chapter. The big question is who wouldn’t want to go out in style? We came up with some ideas on what to wear on your big day if you’re looking for a dress to wear on May 21st.

  1. Classic white

Wearing white is fairly common for formal occasions such as graduation. White is a basic hue and very easy to style. White is also always a foolproof match no matter what color of your cap and gown. I picked a short, white, scalloped dress. This dress looks crisp and classic against the black cap and gown. This dress would also look great with a pair of basic flats or sandals.

  1. Trendy

The default for graduation is a dress but that does not mean you need to wear one. Statement pieces are great purchases and are items that probably would not be considered last season within months. A statement pieces could even become a wardrobe stable for years to come. This romper can be wore dressed up for graduation or even dressed down. This style will definitely not be considered old within the next few months.

  1. Floral

If you are not into the idea of wearing white and are ready for summer to start, floral is the way to go. Floral is pretty and versatile and you can even wear it after you graduate as well. This floral dress is classy enough for you to rock at graduation. They even have fun summer flowers to get you in the mood for the season.

  1. Bold and Colorful

A bright and colorful dress is a no-brainer when it comes to graduation outfits. You can infuse some extra personality to your look. This idea also works in conjunction with incorporating school colors into your graduation outfit. If you want to show off some spirit, this colorful outfit is an easy to adjust to any of your school colors. This bold red dress can be paired perfectly with some black sandals to show off your Clark spirit.

  1. Bohemian Chic

The Bohemian Chic style is for those who want to look effortlessly dressed up yet casual. This style is perfect for not looking overdressed for your lunch or dinner plans after the ceremony while also being comfortable. I love this Free People dress. It is not to heavy but also is on the dressier side. The embroidery also makes this dress pop!
