Our next senior in our Senior Series is Carlos Deschamps. You’ve probably seen him around campus filming at various events, so read on to learn more about the man behind the camera!Â
Name: Carlos Deschamps
Hometown: New York City
Major: Screen Studies
Favorite Professor at Clark: So many, but I’ll say Hugh Manon. He is probably one of the toughest professors at Clark, but I could gladly say that he taught me a lot in terms of looking at life from a different and creative perspective, which I use on a regular basis.
Favorite Class at Clark: My favorite class was Creative Actor with Daniel Balel. I definitely recommend it!
Favorite Spot to Study on Campus and Why: Aside from my room I would say the library 5th floor. I’m not into the whole quietness, but just being in the top floor of the building brings me comfort.
Favorite Bistro Snack: Oreo Ice Cream. It’s really good!!!!!
What has been your favorite thing about going to school at Clark?
I would say the Clark community and the multiple people that I have encountered. The whole “college experience” has been the best part about being at Clark.
What will you miss most about Clark?
Definitely the people and the atmosphere. It is going to be weird going back home and getting used to not waking up on campus.
What clubs and activities were you involved with on campus?
At first I was part of Clark EMS, Clark Cable Network (Now Film Production Society), and Radio of Clark University (ROCU). However, after sophomore year I became a Resident Adviser, dropped ROCU and Clark EMS, and became president of Clark Film Production Society.
What are your best words of wisdom for underclassmen?
If you want to do something and really want it, just do it. Like, just do it today and don’t wait for tomorrow. Motivation is definitely the hardest thing to obtain in life, but the most rewarding.
What are your plans post-graduation?
Hopefully get a job/ internship in New York City that relates to film and television productions. However, I will be doing freelance film work as a side job.
