Big/Little Gifts That Aren’t Canvases

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clemson chapter.

Big/Little Reveal is so much fun, but prepping for gift week can feel overwhelming, especially if you don’t want to make a million canvases. Here are some cool, new gift ideas!

A Customized Jean Jacket

This doesn’t have to be pricey! Sure, you could order a custom one and drop some real change on Etsy, or you could actually make one yourself! Check out thrift stores for jean jackets and DIY a cute design!

A Puzzle

This one is super easy and pretty cheap! Pick up a puzzle at Dollar Tree, assemble it, and get painting. If you can paint it, you can put it on your puzzle! Consider painting your letters, a sweet note, or a pun!

A Corkboard

If you’re going to make all these memories, you need a place to display them! Pick up a corkboard, and paint their name, a phrase, or just your letters.

A Paddle

Paddles are easy to find, and Pinterest has a million designs to inspire you.

A Water Bottle

You can go as bougie or crafty as you want. But make sure you use materials that can withstand a wash!

A Coffee Cup

Coffee is basically a college essential, so consider making your craft a part of your little’s daily routine! Bonus points if you craft a reusable coffee cup.

Letters

Letters are a classic, and they’re so easy to make! If you can’t find letters are your local craft store, check online!

A Frame

If you want to be fancy, pick up a frame at Michael’s and fix it up with paint, beads, and maybe even glitter. For a simpler craft, buy a simple frame from Dollar Tree and use a paint pen to write out your sorority’s name.

Matching Necklaces

Admittedly, these necklaces are adorable, but if you want to do it yourself, you can find all the materials you’ll need at Michael’s or online. You just need a chain, some letter beads, and patience.

A Banner

Banners are super cute and come in handy for reveal! Plus, they’re a prime photo opportunity. If you want to make your own banner, check this out.

Mayme Medlock is a junior at Clemson University, studying political science with an emphasis in international relations. In her free time, you'll find her chasing cute dogs, talking about studying abroad in the Balkans, watching copious amounts of Netflix, and putting people at ease when they question her name's pronunciation (May-m, not May-me).
