Grove Collaborative: Your New Go-To for Household Essentials

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clemson chapter.

You guys, I’ve just discovered my holy grail for natural, environmentally-friendly household products, and I’m in love.  It’s a little website called Grove Collaborative, and they’re all about providing you with natural, eco-friendly products for an amazing price.  Also, their customer service is seriously the best.

I placed my first order from them earlier this week because my girl crush, @mikzazon, posted a picture to IG with a promotion to receive a free fall scented cleaning kit when you place your first order with Grove.  And, duh, who doesn’t want pumpkin spice or apple cider scented cleaning supplies?  The value of that kit alone was enough to get me to check out their website for the first time and, wow, the value I got was better than I could’ve asked for.

When you create your account, Grove Co offers a $35 value free cleaning starter set with your first $20 purchase, even if you don’t have a promo code. Can someone say amazing?  Based on my experience, the sets can vary in what you get for free. I chose to use Mik’s promo code because I wanted multi-surface cleaner rather than hand cream as part of my bundle, but no matter what I decided, I also got offered a free reusable glass spray bottle and cleaning concentrate!

In total, I received around $50.00 worth of products for free, including apple cider scented cleaner and soap (it smells so good!) just by buying $20 worth of household essentials like trash bags and paper towels that I needed anyways.  I’m also part of their VIP club for the next 60 days, and that means I get free shipping on all orders over $20 and exclusive sales, which I’ve already taken advantage of.  Buying natural, good-for-our-planet essentials and getting free shipping, plus free gifts if you hit a certain spending threshold?  Sign me up!  Oh wait, I already am.

Grove also has the best customer service I’ve ever seen.  I received my box and immediately saw “Thank you, MegAnn!” written on the outside with a little smiley face.  I addition to that little note that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, I got assigned my own Grove Co advisor to help me with any questions I have about buying products that work best for my home (Hi, John!)

In short, Grove Collaborative is my new favorite website to buy everything from dishwasher pods to solid shampoo, and I love everything this company stands for. Just make sure you adjust the subscriptions that appear after each purchase you make. You can set up your account to have automatic shipments of essentials like toilet paper or soap, but you just have to click a little “x” in the subscriptions tab if you don’t want automatic shipments. I hope this helps you make the change to natural household products if you’re trying to. Now, I’m going to enjoy my clean, apple cider scented house!

MegAnn is a junior genetics major at Clemson University. She is currently part of the Calhoun Honors College, involved in cancer and genetics research, and the events director for HC Clemson. You can find her spending too much time in the life science building, trying to convince her friends to be SFX makeup models, and spending time with her roommates and their dog.
Mayme Medlock is a junior at Clemson University, studying political science with an emphasis in international relations. In her free time, you'll find her chasing cute dogs, talking about studying abroad in the Balkans, watching copious amounts of Netflix, and putting people at ease when they question her name's pronunciation (May-m, not May-me).
